Pigs are scavengers and eat almost everything lying in their way. It includes urine, feces, rotten foods, carcasses and cancerous growth. Thus, it is a dirty animal which also feeds on insects, bugs, dead carcass of sick animals and leftover scraps of the farm. All of these facts are enough to caution a non vegetarian against eating its meat. Pork as a meat dish is known to be rich in toxins compared to beef, mutton and chicken. Listed below are reasons to avoid pork as much as possible:
Increases waistline and disease carriers
Bacon strips, sausages and ham may lead to abnormal growth of muscles on the hip. Pork products are usually loaded with saturated fats and artery clogging cholesterol. As a result, it leads to waistline enlargement and chances of growing diseases also move up. Impotence, asthma, arthritis, diabetes and heart diseases can be the outcome of undisciplined consumption. Pork eaters are also nine times more vulnerable to turn obese compared to vegetarians.
Pigs often live in unhealthy conditions
Pigs are famous for living in muds or preferring such surroundings above anything. In the factory farms, these animals are raised to live on their faeces and vomits. They are often passing through the dead corpses of other pigs inside cages. Such conditions are extremely filthy and research suggests that a quarter of these animals are suffering from adverse cases of poison ivy. It is not a good idea to suffer the same by consumption of pork.
Pigs are known to carry viruses when they are sick which can spread into humans. Swine flu is a big example which has already leaded to deaths in different countries. Infections in pigs can spread very easily which may turn out to be antibiotic resistant at times to aggravate the problem.
